John Brereton of Higher Hall, Isycoed, Wrexham, Denbighshire farmer died 9 May 1896. Probate St Asaph 17 July to Edward Brereton farmer. Effects £1,295 3s.  Who was this John.  His brother went to Austraila, so his he return?  His wealthy uncle John Brereton late of Bolesworth Hill has another probate, so cant be him.

5 Aug 1862 Marriage banns were read for Edward Brereton of Broxton, Malpas, a farmer and Frances Hopley, spinster of Broxton to me married at Malpas.

25 Aug 1862, Edward Brereton (25) son of Thomas married Frances Hopley (22) daughter of George Hopley a Wheelwright at Malpas, Cheshire.

Edward later (about 1872) became a farmer of 46.5 acres at Cacca Dutton, Denbyshire  They were living at the Nags Head Inn with other Brereton family members.

In 1889, when Martha married, Edward was a farmer at Higher Hall, Is-y-coed.

1865 - 1938 William Brereton 73 73 William emigrated to Australia in 1887, aged 21.  He first worked in the Milloo district for about 8 years. He was one of the early pioneers of Gunblower Forest (an Island), where he spent 44 years transforming the forest into a modern farm.  He died in 1938, leaving 7 children (now adults). 1868 - 1957 Martha Brereton 89 89 In 1889, Thomas Holland (24), a farmer, son of Thomas (dec) married Martha Brereton (21) of Higher Hall, Is-y-coed, daughter of Edward Brereton a farmer.

In 1911, Edward (36) was still single and head, living and farming at Higher Hall, Bowling Bank, Wrexham.  He had his brothers Hopley (31), Thomas (29) Frank (27) and sister Jessie (38), all farmers, with him as well as three servants.

In 1910, Hopley married Esther Evans, and initially (in 1911) with still farming with his brothers (and shown as married for less than a year)

In 1939, Hopley and Esther (59 & 55) were at Eyton House, Wrexham, Denbighshire.
1840 - 1902 Frances Hopley 62 62 25 Aug 1862, Edward Brereton (25) son of Thomas married Frances Hopley (25) daughter of George Hopley at Malpas, Cheshire. 1882 Thomas Brereton 1884 - 1937 Frank Brereton 52 52 7 Apr 1920, Frank (34), a farfmer, married a much younger Mary Alice Holmes (19).

Frank and Mary Alice had Bank Farm Llay, near Wrexham.
1884 - 1942 Esther Evans 57 57 Esther's parents were Job and Annie Evans of Cacca Dutton. 1912 - 1990 Norman Brereton 77 77 In 1939, Norman (27) was still single at Eyton House, Wrexham.

Norman may have married Lillian Simpson, Dec 1949 at Stoke, Staffordshire (and/or Blanche Robinson in 1993)

On Feb Feb-1942 st St. Mary's Church, Eccleston, Dorothy Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr & Mrs J.C. Probert of Cheaveley Hall, Huntingdon married Cyril Brereton of Rodens Hall, Wrexham, third son of Mr Hopley Brereton and the late Mrs Brereton.  Eyton House, Wrexham. (Chester Chronical, 21 Feb 1942).
