William was born in 1828 in Shavington and his baptism took place on December 6th, 1829 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

William's father was Joseph Galley and his mother was Ellen Brereton. His maternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Joseph, George, Ellen and Mary. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
