George was born in July 1830 in Shakerley and his baptism took place on July 4th, 1830 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

George's father was Joseph Galley and his mother was Ellen Brereton. His maternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, Joseph, William, Ellen and Mary. He was the third youngest of the seven children.
