Joseph was born in March 1825 in Shavington and his baptism took place on March 6th, 1825 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

Joseph's father was Joseph Galley and his mother was Ellen Brereton. His maternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, William, George, Ellen and Mary. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
