Thomas was born in March 1822 in Wybunbury and his baptism took place there on March 3rd, 1822.1  Thomas' father was Joseph Galley and his mother was Ellen Brereton.  His maternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Joseph, William, George, Ellen and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
