William was born in 1838 in Hough.1   William's father was Aaron Moses and his mother was Eliza Edwards. He had four brothers and a sister, named Aaron, John, George, Charles and Nancy.  He was the oldest of the six children.



William's family with Hannah Brereton

‌William and Hannah were married in a religious ceremony in 1838 in Weston (near Crew).  They had four sons and a daughter, named Thomas, John, George, Frederick and Margaret.  There are possibly more children.
