William was born on January 1st, 1811 in Walgherton and his baptism took place on January 27th, 1811 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

William's father was Joseph Brereton and his mother was Sarah Reay. His paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had two brothers and six sisters, named George, James, Betty, Mary, Hannah, Ann, Sarah and Martha. He was the second oldest of the nine children.
