Martha was born in June 1827 in Walgherton and her baptism took place on July 22nd, 1827 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was Joseph Brereton and her mother was Sarah Reay. Her paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, George, James, Betty, Mary, Hannah, Ann and Sarah. She was the second youngest of the nine children.
