George was born in February 1816 in Walgherton and his baptism took place on February 11th, 1816 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

George's father was Joseph Brereton and his mother was Sarah Reay. His paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. He had two brothers and six sisters, named William, James, Betty, Mary, Hannah, Ann, Sarah and Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
