Betty was born in December 1808 in Walgherton and her baptism took place on December 11th, 1808 in Wybunbury.¹

Birth Notes

Betty's father was Joseph Brereton and her mother was Sarah Reay. Her paternal grandparents were John Brereton and Ellen Latham. She had three brothers and five sisters, named William, George, James, Mary, Hannah, Ann, Sarah and Martha. She was the oldest of the nine children.
