Sarah was born in 1762 in Wybunbury and her baptism took place there on June 17th, 1762.1  Sarah's father was Joseph Brereton and her mother was Rachel Pickstock.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Brereton and Elizabeth Simpson. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John, Thomas, William, Katherine and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
