William was born in 1810 in Wybunbury and his baptism took place there on March 18th, 1810.  William's father was John Brereton and his mother was Mary Brassington.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton and Jane Whittingham. He had four brothers and three sisters, named George, Thomas, Samuel, John, Ann, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.  He died as an infant in March 1810 in Wybunbury.  He was buried on March 13th, 1810 in Wybunbury.1
