Thomas was born on June 22nd, 1805 in Wybunbury and his baptism took place there on December 28th, 1806.1 2  Thomas' father was John Brereton and his mother was Mary Brassington.  His paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton and Jane Whittingham. He had four brothers and three sisters, named George, Samuel, William, John, Ann, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 69 on April 18th, 1875 in Wybunbury.  He was buried on April 18th, 1875 in Wybunbury.3
