Ann was born on November 14th, 1802 in Wybunbury and her baptism took place there on December 28th, 1806.1  Ann's father was John Brereton and her mother was Mary Brassington.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton and Jane Whittingham. She had five brothers and two sisters, named George, Thomas, Samuel, William, John, Mary and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 69 in September 1872 in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
