Hannah's father was Thomas Billington and her mother was Mary Brereton.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Brereton and Mary Buckley. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, James, William, Thomas, Jane, Ann, Mary, Martha, Hannah and Elizabeth.  She was the youngest of the eleven children.
