Mary's father was George Brereton and her mother was Mary Jackson.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton Jnr and Mary Green. She had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Samuel, George, James and Ann.  She was the youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 23 in November 1834 in Weston (near Crew).  She was buried on November 29th, 1834 in Wybunbury.¹
