Ann was born in 1804 in Wybunbury and her baptism took place there on January 22nd, 1804.1  Ann's father was George Brereton and her mother was Mary Jackson.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton Jnr and Mary Green. She had four brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Samuel, George, James and Mary.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
