Elizabeth was born in 1814 in Hunsterson and her baptism took place on February 14th, 1814 in Wybunbury.1 2  Elizabeth's father was Thomas Brereton and her mother was Margeret Hallmark.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and <Unknown>. She had a brother and three sisters, named William, Ann, Jane and Margaret.  She was the youngest of the five children.
