Thomas was born in August 1790 in Weston (near Crew) and his baptism took place on August 8th, 1790 in Wybunbury.1  Thomas' father was Thomas Brereton and his mother was Mary Buckley. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, Jane and Mary.  He was the oldest of the five children.
