Samuel was born in October 1793 in Weston (near Crew) and his baptism took place on October 6th, 1793 in Wybunbury.1  Samuel's father was Thomas Brereton and his mother was Mary Buckley. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Jane and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
