Elizabeth was born in December 1809 in Bridgemere and her baptism took place on December 24th, 1809 in Wybunbury.1  Elizabeth's father was James Brereton and her mother was Hannah Morrey.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Brereton and Jane Whittingham. She had six brothers and two sisters, named James, Thomas, John, George, William, Daniel, Mary and Ann.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.
