George was born in October 1743 in Bridgemere and his baptism took place on October 25th, 1743 in Wybunbury.1 2  George's father was Samuel Brereton Snr and his mother was Mary Whittingham. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Thomas, John, Katherine and Elizabeth.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 66 on September 9th, 1810 in Bridgemere.  He was buried in September 1810 in Wybunbury.1

‌George and Sarah were married in a religious ceremony on February 16th, 1779 in Wybunbury.3   They had three sons named Abel, George and Samuel.
