Mary's father was William Brereton and her mother was Jane Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were William Brereton and <Unknown>. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Richard, William, Thomas, William, Josiah, Jane, Mary and Lydia.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 6 in May 1817 in Walgherton.  She was buried on May 26th, 1817 in Wybunbury.¹
