In 1851, George and Rebecca (27 & 24) are living at 32 Back Grosvenor St., Stalybridge, Lancashire (Castle Hall area) with 2 lodgers (George and Ann Gleddill) and 1m old son Samuel (born in Cheshire).

From 1851 to 1856, George and Rebecca had their 4 chirdren, with Albert registered at Hartshead and the others (Samuel, Sarah Jane and Walter) at Dukinfield.

Betweein 1856 and 1861, George and Rebecca moved from Stalybridge to Haslingden. In 1861 they had left Stalybridge and Joseph and Mary Ann Midword, another stone mason, was living there (district 27a).

In 1861, George (37, Head) a Stone Mason from Berry Brow, is with wife "Ann" (35), living at 128 Dowry Street, Haslingden, Old Accrington with sons Samuel and Albert (10 & 9, both labourers born Stalybridge).

Between 1861 and 1871, Rebecca Ann died, or was it earlier and the Ann in 1861 is another worman?

In 1871, George (48, Widower, Mason), lodging with son Albert (18) and Smith family (Joseph a grocer, wife Martha and two infants) at Gilstead, Bingley, Yorkshire.

George died in 1873 of phthisis (i.e. pulmonary tuberculosis or a similar progressive wasting disease).  His son albert was present at the death.

NOTE: Dont confuse another George Stocks (29, porter) from Huddersfield married to Rebecca (24) from Manchester in Birkenhead in 1861. They are too young.

In 1871, Robert Stott Drain (38) and Hannah (35) had son John (10), Lewis (13) and Sarah Terry (66, Motheri-in-law from Kirkland)

Winifred was a widow, her 1864 marriage certificate to John Draine has her as such with father’s name William Astley.

Robert Stott Watkins (1895-1963) was in the British Army: Kings Own Scottish Borders, Service No.241230. His older brother Thomas was a gunner.

In 1861, Robert (23) and Ann (24) were living with Robert's parents.
1861 - 1953 John Draine 92 92 John was born in 1861 at Chapel Lane, Goodshaw.  John is the only baptised son of Robert and Ann, and there is a suspicion if Robert didnt have children, that John he may have been the illegitimate son (e.g. of George Stocks, explained by DNA).

1885 to 1893, John and Elizabeth lived in Rossendale. However, in 1888 there son John R was registered in Sharples. From 1895, the last two births are registered in Rawtenstall.

In 1901, John and Elizabeth only had 3 surviving children; Mary M (15), Alice H (9) and Walter (1).
1928 - 2017 John (Jack) Alfred Watkins 88 88 J.W. is a shared DNA match with myself and John Graham, so a Paternal match. 1921 - 2004 Dorothy Watkins 83 83 in 1939, Dorothy Watkins was living with Robert S and Jack at Rawtenstall 1863 Elizabeth Knowles Daughter of John Knowles and Jane Abbot.  The third of 10 children.

In 1871, Elizabeth (8) was with her parents John and Jane (28 & 29), 5 siblings and her cousin Joseph Knowles (9).  The family wee from Blackburn and had moved to Higher Booths around 1866.

In 1881, John and Matilda Knowles (38 & 40) were at Higher Booths with 9 children including Elizabeth (18 and single).

In 1925, Harry (an Entomologist, aged 32) lived at Lindens, Ashford, Kent.  He sailed with wife Doris J (32) and son "Master Gerald" (aged 2) to Mombassa on the (British India) Matiana. He was on his way to Uganda.

In 1944, Harry aged 51, arried Liverpool from Uganda via Port Said, Egypt. His address was c/o Crown Agents, Millbank, London (as was a Civil Servant).

In 1911, Thomas (48), Mahala (42) and family were living at 21 Lansdowne Rd, Burnley.  They had been married 25 years and had 7 surviving children with them (2 children had died).

In 1930, his son Allan traveled to Quebec, Canada. He recorded his father Thomas Harrgreaves of 21 Lansdowne St, Burnley, Lancs.

7 Jan 1940, Thomas Hargreaves of 89 Church Road, Burnley died at Monkholme Nursing Home.  He left £780.

in 1939 Frank (born 15-Sep-1887) is a Technical Chemist at Southampton married to Margaret (born 14-Apr-1891).  He lived at 9 Avon Road. They have a son Geoffrey (b.1917) who is a lab technician.

In 1920, Ernest and his wife Catherine Hargreaves were witness to Harry's marriage.

In 1939, Ernest (born 2-Dec-1889) was retired at only 50. Catherine and another were present. They were living at 24 York Road, Southport. They moved up the road to Blackpool  which is where Ernest died 8-Dec-1974, leaving £7001.

Sidney H Bagley died at Amersham in 16 Dec 1970.  His son John H Bagley is also deceased.

1926 - 2016 Alfred (katekiwi1226) Edward Earl Hargreaves 90 90 katekiwi1226 has Alfred E Hargreaves (her father) with no DOB. However, this appears to be the Alfred Edward Hargreaves (1926-2016) who is also in June Eddmond's tree, both with shared DNA matches to me.

In 1861, William was not at home in Habergham Eaves.  His wife Susannah (24, Mar) was with their son Thomas (4), mother Sarah Slater (62), sister Jane (33) and niece Mary Slater (11)

In 1866 William left his wife and absconded to New Zealand.

In 1871, there was another Willaim and Susannah Hargreaves (38 & 33) with John Richard (13), Henry (10), Elizabeth (8) and Mary (6) - All birth records show this was mother Susannah Rawstron, births at Haslingden. This (other) William Hargreaves married Susannah Rawstron at Haslingden in 1857.

In 1891, William Hargreaves (married, 58, born Burnley), an overlooker at the cotton mill was in the Lancaster Lunatic Asylum.  This is another, as he married another woman in NZ (so a biggamist).
