Joseph's father was Daniel Haddock and his mother was Mary Kirkman. His maternal grandparents were <Unknown> and Mary Kirkman. He had a brother and two sisters, named Edward, Mary and Annie. He was the youngest of the four known children. He died at the age of 79 on April 30th, 1936 in Bolton. His burial was in 1936 at Walmsley Presbyterian.²³
