Sarah's father was William Taylor and her mother was Winifred Ashworth. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Ellen and Louisa.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Samuel, William, Thomas, Emily and Mary.
