Grace's father was John George Lee and her mother was Emily Adams. Her paternal grandparents were Ricahrd Lee and Elizabeth Brumbell; her maternal grandparents were William Adams and Sarah Ann Downes. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Richard, John, Millicent, Cicely and Doras. She was the youngest of the six children. She died at the age of 94 in October 1991 in Shrewsbury.²
