In 1911, Ernest was a Geology student, aged 20.
Ernest probably married Catherine Turton 1916 in Greater London (where his brother Harry also married). They were both Entomologists.
Catherine Turton, daughter of John (a chair maker) and Agnes was born 25-Dec-1890 and baptised 7-Jan-1891 in Keighley. About 1897, the family moved to Burnley where she later met Ernest.
In 1920, Ernest and his wife Catherine Hargreaves were witness to Harry's marriage.
In 1939, Ernest (born 2-Dec-1889) was retired at only 50. Catherine and another were present. They were living at 24 York Road, Southport. They moved up the road to Blackpool which is where Ernest died 8-Dec-1974, leaving £7001.
