The Will and Codicil of Michael Knowles late of Blackburn in the County of Lancaster, Grocer deceased who died 14 December 1859 at Blackburn aforesaid was proved at Lancaster by the oaths of Mary Knowles of Blackburn aforesaid Widow the Relict, Robert Pomfret of the same place Overlooker and John Garsden of the same place Clogger. Efects under £200.
Michael and Mary were married in a religious ceremony on April 3rd, 1825 in Blackburn.4 They had a son named John. The family line is yet to be completed.
