Jonathan Hamer 
Jonathan was born on December 4th, 1822 in Halliwell.1 Jonathan's father was Thomas Hamer and his mother was Mary Briggs. He had three brothers and a sister, named Andrew, Michael, Ellis and Rachel. He was the third oldest of the five known children. He died at the age of 84 on September 25th, 1907 in NSW.2 Death Notes

In 1841, Jonathan Hamer, a Chair Maker, son of Thomas Hamer, a Shop Keeper, married Sarah Grove Mather, daughter of John Mather, both from Halliwell.
Jonathan's mother may have been Margaret Hamer, who was a Shop Keeper (aged 50) at Great Moor Street in 1841. His father may have been the Thomas Hamer (50 in 1841), a Shop Keeper at Black Horse Street.
NOTE: There was also Thomas and Isabell Hamer (35 & 30) Green Grocer at Church Gate, Bolton in 1841. They are too young to be Jonathan's parents.
