Arthur's father was William Buckley and his mother was Elizabeth Young.  His paternal grandparents were William Buckley and Esther Stretch; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Young and Mary Gerrard. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, George, Herbert, Albert, Elizabeth and Lucy.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 72 in 1966.

‌Arthur and Frances were married.  They had a daughter named Joan.  There are possibly more children.
