Albert was born in June 1902 in Northwich.1  Albert's father was William Buckley and his mother was Elizabeth Young.  His paternal grandparents were William Buckley and Esther Stretch; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Young and Mary Gerrard. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, William, George, Arthur, Herbert, Elizabeth and Lucy.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
