Ann was born in March 1821 in Darcy Lever and her baptism took place on April 1st, 1821 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1  Ann's father was Edward Stott and her mother was Mary Entwistle. She had a brother and two sisters, named Isaac, Sarah and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
