Hannah's father was John Slater and her mother was Susan Britcliffe. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Ralph, George, Robert, William, Betty, Susy, Ann and Sarah. She was the third oldest of the nine children. She died at the age of 49 in August 1846 in Burnley. Her burial was on August 31st, 1846 in Burnley.²
