Susan (Susy) Slater

Susan, known as Susy, was born on January 14th, 1798 R Cliviger & Mereclough and her baptism took place there on December 17th, 1798.¹

Susy's father was John Slater and her mother was Susan Britcliffe. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Ralph, George, Robert, William, Betty, Hannah, Ann and Sarah. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children. She died after 1861.

General Notes
- In 1841, sisters Hannah and Susan Slater (42 & 42) were at Mereclough. There was also William (30), Sarah (27) and Matilda (10).
  
  In 1851, after Hannah had died, Susan (48) was a house servant at 28 Cheapside, Burnley for Sarah John and Sarah Clough (nee Slater, her sister). Also present was William Slater (40) and Matilda (20).
  
  In 1861, Susy Slater (single, aged 60) was a house servant for her brother Ralph at Mereclough.
