William Slater

William was born in 1833 R Cliviger & Mereclough.¹

- Aged 8 in 1841

William's father was George Slater and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Whitehead. His paternal grandparents were John Slater and Susan Britcliffe. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, John, Benjamin, Jane, Hannah and Susannah. He was the third oldest of the seven children.

- William was on the 1841 census, but not baptised at Merclough (or record missing).
