Thomas Slater

  Today, Scholey Head Lane heads East off Red Lees Road, midway between Mereclough and Cliviger. Hullot Hall was probably at nearby Pickup Bank. The family were still at Southward Bottom (less than a mile SE of Cliviger) in 1841.

Thomas' father was George Slater and his mother was Sarah (Sally) Whitehead. His paternal grandparents were John Slater and Susan Britcliffe. He had three brothers and three sisters, named William, John, Benjamin, Jane, Hannah and Susannah. He was the fifth oldest of the seven children.
