Thomas was born in September 1866 in Bolton.1  Thomas' father was here was also John Lomax  John Lomax and his mother was Martha Lever.  His paternal grandparents were Arthur Lomax and Ann Lomax. He had two brothers and four sisters, named John, Jacob, Sarah, Martha, Ann and Mary.  He died at the age of 37 on May 11th, 1904 in Horwich.2
