Lives with 1793 - 1856 Sarah Mather 63 63 UNCONFIRMED:  Possible parents William and Betty married in 1779, but there is only one baptism for Alice in 1792.  It is very likely there are several more Mather children from Turton with baptism records missing. Another possibility is a daughter of Solomon and Martha, also with a large gap where you may expect births. It is assumed that Sarah is one such person!
Because Solomon was born at Hall-i’th’-Wood, and so was Sarah's husband Thomas Lowe, then this seems the more likely.  Either would result in DNA matches.

In 1841, Thomas and Sarah Lowe (50 & 45) are living at Bank Top, Sharples with Betty (20), Thomas (15), Joseph (15), Jesse (12), William (10) and George (8)

In 1851, Thomas and Sarah Lowe (63 & 68) were living at Bank Top, Sharples with Betty (32), Jessie (23), William (18) and George (17).  Henry Fairhurst (26, a possible relative) was a neighbour.  Hall-i’th’-Wood is nearby.
1787 - 1870 Thomas Lowe 82 82 In 1841, Thomas and Sarah (50 & 45) were at Bank Top, Sharples with Betty (20) Joseph (15), Jesse (13), William (10) and George (8). There was also another Thomas (15), listed before Sarah, possibly a son or nephew from another marriage.

In 1851, Thomas and Sarah Lowe (63 & 68) were living at Bank Top, Sharples with Betty (32), Jessie (23), William (18) and George (17).

In 1861, Thomas, aged 73, born Hall-ith Wood was a lodger with his youngest son George at Sharples.
1819 - 1869 Betty (Elizabeth) Lowe 49 49 In 1851, Betty was unmarried, daughter of Thomas and Sarah

21 Nov 1857, Elizabeth Lowe, daughter of Thomas Lowe a hand loom weaver married Major Gerrard, a widower at St Paul, Astley Bridge, Bolton.  Witnesses were her brothers  Jesse Lowe and  William Lowe.

In 1861, Major and Elizabeth (45 & 44) were at Sharples with James (20) and Garrett (13)

Betty Gerrard died in 1869, aged 49 (i.e. correct age). However there is also Major and Betty Gerrard alive in 1881 at 32 Bank Top, Sharples (both 64) which is where the family were in 1871. This could bne the same Betty (or another spouse).
1828 - 1891 Jesse Lowe 63 63 In 1851, Jesse & Sophia (33 & 30) were in Sharples with  Sarah E Lowe (3)

In 1891, Jesse was an inmate at the Bolton Workhouse.  He died there later in the year.
1833 - 1889 William Lowe 56 56 In 1871, William was still at Bank Top, Sharples, where he was born. 1834 George Lowe In 1841 and 1851, George was living at Bank Top, Sharples with parents and siblings. 1826 Joseph Lowe In 1848, Joseph married Elizabeth Ellis at Bolton Register Office and in 1851, Joseph (26) was a Green Tea Dealer. He was married to Elizabeth (31) and had his brother James (21) and Ann Ellis (sister-in-law) with them.  This brother James was at Toppings, Turton in 1841 and appears to be the brother of another Joseph, so Joseph and James, sons of William and Ellen Lowe, so are not of this family 1837 Sarah Fielding 1913 - 2010 Samuel Lowe 96 96 1878 - 1951 Jane Lawton 73 73 1871 - 1938 Samuel Lowe 67 67 In 1911, James and Jane (39 & 32) had been married 13 years in 1911 and 4 children (all alive). 1920 - 2013 Kathleen Jackson 93 93 Jane Lowe 1902 Sarah Lowe 1904 James Edward Lowe 1907 Lucy Lowe 1859 George Lowe 1862 Levi Lowe 1864 Sarah Ann Lowe The Sarah Ann Loew that Married Thomas Dootson in 1892, was the daughter of Isaac Lowe of Westleigh

In 1891, Sarah was 26 and still with her parents at Westleigh
1869 Alice Lowe 1874 Jesse Lowe In 1868, James Lowe married Ann Gregory.  These are Jesse's parents, but cant be George's oldest son James born 1857.

2 Jan 1872, Jesse was baptised son of James and Ann.
1876 Thomas Lowe 1857 James Lowe 1867 Susannah Lowe 1833 - 1898 Lucy Duxbury 65 65 Father James Duxbury

Lucy was wealthy.  She left nearly £2000 when she died in 1898
1859 Henry Lowe 1864 Joseph Lowe 1867 - 1891 John William Lowe 23 23 John William Lowe of Astley bridge died in 1898, leaving his estate of £253 to his widowed mother. 1868 Rose Ann Lowe 7 Jul 1888, Rose Ann Lowe married Lord Scholes at Astley Bridge 1860 - 1867 Thomas Lowe 7 7 1862 - 1863 James Lowe 6m 6m 1831 Sophia Darbyshire Sophia was the daughter of Thomas Darbyshire.

In 1841, Sophia (12) was with her parents Thomas and Ellen Darbyshire (both 30, and Ellen not from Lancashire), living at Gas Street, West Bolton.
1859 Sarah Ellen Lowe In 1880, Sarah Ellen Lowe married Thomas Shepherd at Bolton St Mark's 1820 Elizabeth Ellis 1830 James Lowe James was not present in 1841.

In 1851, James (21, born Turton) was living with his brother Joseph (26), a Green Tea Dealer.  However, this appears to be another family.
1816 William Holt 4 Feb 1856, William Holt, a finisher of Harwood son of George a quarryman, married Betty Lowe of Turton, daughter of Joseph.

In 1861, William and Betty Holt (45 & 42) were at Ruins(?), Harwood with their niece Elizabeth Allen (7).
1822 Joseph Lowe 1821 Thomas Lowe It was another Thomas Lowe (son of Samuel) who married Mary Dearden 27 Aug 1843 1900 James (Willie) William Lowe Willie was 12 in 1911 so GRO record doesnt match 1854 Elizabeth Allen In 1861, Elizabeth Allen (7), niece, was living with William and Betty Holt (who had no children of their own).  Birth records show the MMN is MATHER or HEYS.

This appears to be the Elizabeth, daughter of John Allen and Alice Mather except their daughter was born at Bradshaw and was with them in 1861.  Also, Alice didnt have a sister Sarah.  Therefore, Elizabeth must be the daughter of Peter Allen and Alice Heys. They were also both from Harwood (when married in 1851) so this is quite likely.
~1830 Peter Allen Peter is the son of James Allen, a weaver. ~1830 Alice Heys Alice Heys from Harwood is the daughter of Samuel Heys, a farmer 1856 Joseph Allen 1851 Samuel Hayes 1821 Betty Lowe The Betty Lowe of Turton that married William Holt was the daughter of Joseph Lowe a bleacher (not Thomas Lowe). She also appears to have a brother John (as marriage witness). 1817 - ~1817 Betty Lowe Betty was born about Sep 1817, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Low.  She must have died an infant, as their next daughter in 1819 was also baptised Betty. 1813 - 1866 James Lowe 52 52 In 1813, James was baptised at St Peters Bolton, son of Thomas Lowe, a weaver and Sarah.  He was the Secons James to be baptised. Abother was born 3 June 1813

In 1851, James Lowe (Head, 35) was unmarried, a victualler with a daughter Elizabeth Brooks (14, barmaid) and three lodgers at 49 Grate Mon Street, Bolton (next to Spring Gardens)
1820 Major Gerrard In 1861, Major and Elizabeth (45 & 44) were at Sharples with James (20) and Garrett (13)
