Daniel was born in 1787 in Halliwell and his baptism took place on January 21st, 1787 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Daniel's father was Arthur Bromiley and his mother was Abigail Fletcher.  His paternal grandparents were Arthur Bromiley and Mary Taylor. He had two brothers named Arthur and John.  He was the youngest of the three children.
