Arthur was born in January 1753 in Heaton Park and his baptism took place on January 30th, 1753 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Arthur's father was Arthur Bromiley and his mother was Mary Taylor. He had two sisters named Esther and Ann.  He was the youngest of the three children. He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named John, Mary, Jenny, Happy and Alice.
