Mary was born on February 4th, 1761 in Little Bolton and her baptism took place on February 20th, 1761 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.1 2  Mary's father was James Lomax and her mother was Mary Taylor.  Her paternal grandparents were John Lomax and Ellen Cross. She had a brother and three sisters, named John, Jenny, Happy and Alice.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Arthur, Mary, Elizabeth, Esther and Ann.  She died as an infant at just 23 days old on February 27th, 1761 in Bolton.3
