Elizabeth was born in 1756 in Astley Bridge and her christening took place on April 30th, 1756 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.1  Elizabeth's father was James Lomax and her mother was Hannah Lomax.  Her paternal grandparents were John Lomax and Ellen Cross. She had a sister named Mary.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named John, Mary, Jenny, Happy and Alice.
