Alice was born on October 3rd, 1770 in Bolton and her baptism took place on January 17th, 1771 at Bank Street Unitarian conducted by Reverend Philip Holland.¹²

Alice's father was James Lomax and her mother was Mary Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were John Lomax and Ellen Cross. She had a brother and three sisters, named John, Mary, Jenny and Happy. She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named Arthur, Mary, Elizabeth, Esther and Ann. She died at the age of 81 in 1851 in Bolton.³

  Another 80+ Alice Lomax died in 1855, Tonge with Haulgh, but she was only 81.

- Another Alice Lomax of Bolton, daughter of James Lomax and Mary Crompton was christened 2 Apr 1775. This other Alice married John Booth on 25 Aug 1790.
  
  Alice was on the Little Bolton poor list in 1811 (but not 1831), living in Green Street. She would have only been 41, so this may be another.
  
  In 1851 she was Head of household, aged 80, proprietor of land at Silverwell St, Great Bolton
