Mary's father was James Lomax and her mother was Hannah Lomax. Her paternal grandparents were John Lomax and Ellen Cross. She had a sister named Elizabeth. She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named John, Mary, Jenny, Happy and Alice. She died in February 1753 in Breightmet. Her burial was on February 21st, 1753 at St. Peter's (Bolton).¹
