      Nanny the Daughter of James and Happy Mather in [parish]
      of Ainsworth was Baptized this 13 Day of May 1799
      fr ms Chris Hopper.
Nanny, known as Nancy, was born in May 1799 in Ainsworth and her baptism took place on May 13th, 1799 at Ridgway Gates Wesleyan conducted by minister Chris Hopper.1 2  Nancy's father was James Mather and her mother was Happy Lomax.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Mather and Ann Howarth; her maternal grandparents were James Lomax and Mary Taylor. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, James, Maria and Maria.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named James and Elizabeth.  She died at the age of 39 in August 1838 in Little Bolton.  She was buried on August 5th, 1838 at All Saints, Little Bolton.3 4

‌Nancy and Richard were married in a religious ceremony on September 7th, 1825 at St. Peter's (Bolton) by Vicar J Slade and witnessed by Richard Mangnall.5  They had a biological son and a biological daughter, named John and Alice.  They also had two adopted daughters named Eliza and Jane.  There are no more children.
