There is no infant or child death of an "Elizabeth" mather, and the one for "Betty" is his wife.
Name: Betty Mathar Burial Date: 5 Aug 1789 Parish: Bolton-le-Moors, Lancashire, England Father's name: James Mathar Register Type: Bishops Transcripts Reference Number: Drm/2/19b Text: Betty W of James Mather of G.B.".
General Notes
If Elizabeth was known as Betty (after her Mother), then Betty Mather married James Makinson, a farmer, on 29 Nov 1913. However this appears to be another family who had 9 or 10 children from 1814-34 baptised at Blackrod. It appears Elizabeth never married.
There are several Elizabeth Mather marriages at Manchester that havn't been investigated.
In 1814: A double wedding: On 13 Feb at Leigh, James Mather a weaver, married Esther Platt and James Makin married Elizabeth Mather. Thomas, Hil or Hid (Hilda ?) and James Lees were witness.
In 1834, Elizabeth Mather of Water Street S, Ashton-Under-Line was a straw hat maker. Probably another!
