Who was James's first wife? Possibly Lydia as James and Lydia had a daughter Elizabeth baptised 12 May 1770. However another wife Betty is more likely. James and Betty had a daughter Betty in 1764 that died in 1774, aged 9. Then James and his new wife Betty Twist had a replacement Betty the following year.
A third option is Ruth. Ruth, W of James Lomax of Harwood was buried June 1772. However the only Ruth is Routh Brooks who married James Lomax in 1745
Ruth and James were married.
