Susannah was born in September 1876 in Reddish.1  Susannah's father was James Mather and her mother was Mary Flitcroft.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Catherine Rawsthorn or ROSTRON. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James, Joshua, Sam, Frank, Mary, Kate, Elizabeth, Isabel and Jessie.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 2 in 1878 in Reddish.2
