22 Sep 1867, James Mather (29), a Book Keeper of Reddish, Stockport, son of James Mather (dec) a Spinner married Mary Flitcroft (24) a Weaver from Sidney St. Bolton daughter of Ellis Flitcroft (dec) a Bricklayer at Park Street Wesleyan Methodist, Bolton.
Mary had a sister Elizabeth Flitcroft who married John William Kay at Blackpool in 1896. In 1901 their daughter Jessie was staying with them.
In 1901, Mary Mather (57) was still in Reddish with Mary Jane (33), William Henry (31) and Sam (15).
Mary and James were married in a religious & civil ceremony on September 2nd, 1867 in Bolton witnessed by Joseph Thornton & Jane Flitcroft.2
